For roofers
Quote the re-tile before you leave.
You send the quote or invoice straight to their phone by text or email. It opens as a proper document with your name and colours on it, and they pay however you take it: card, bank transfer or cash. Easy for you to send, easy for them to pay.

What TradePA is, and what it costs
TradePA is an app for UK trades, including roofers, that does your admin while you talk. Say the job and it writes the quote, drafts the invoice, books it in the diary and writes the reminder when someone hasn’t paid. It gets the finished job signed off on your phone too. £10 a month, two weeks free.
The whole app. Every feature, no add-ons, and it does not go up when the work does.
No card, no contract. Put a real job through and see how TradePA can change your business.
A Job Completion Sign-off the customer puts their name to on your phone, before you are off the scaffold.
Say it before you come down the ladder
What you say, and what you get back

You say
“Quote Mrs Adeyemi six and a half thousand to strip and re-tile the roof at 22 Larch Avenue. Scaffold in.”
A £7,800 itemised quote with VAT and your logo on it. You preview your quote to make sure you are happy, before sending to your customer by text, WhatsApp or your own custom branded email.

You say
“What should I be charging for the flat roof at 8 Priory Close?”
Quote Helper shows what the job costs you and what your expected profit would be, allowing you to quote with ease based on your own cost and pricing data. Boards, membrane, trims, scaffold, labour, each with your costs versus what you charge your customer. You see the margin before you send it, not after the job is done.

You say
“Larch Avenue is finished and signed off. Invoice her the balance, four thousand plus VAT.”
Your PA updates that job and drafts the £4,800 balance invoice, ready for you to preview and send.

You say
“Who still owes me?”
Your PA already knows. Every invoice you have sent, what has landed and what has gone past its date. It writes the reminder and you tap send. Nothing goes to your customer that you have not okayed.
The paperwork
Weather, access and the bit nobody wrote down
Half the arguments on a roof are about what the quote included. Scaffold or not. Felt or not. The chimney or not. Put it on its own line and there is nothing to argue about. Then a sign-off the customer puts their name to when it is finished, so the job is agreed done before the invoice goes anywhere. Signed, dated and kept.
3 quotes
What most householders get before they pick a roofer, so the one that comes back written properly, and first, usually gets the job. Your PA writes it while you are still on site, so yours is the one that lands first.
The sign-off
You talk to your PA, it writes the job sheet. Ready for them to sign.
01
It fills itself in
Your PA already has half of it
Pick the job and the customer, and the address and the work you logged come straight off it. Your PA asks you for whatever is missing and you answer as you would to a real person. The job sheet fills itself in as you talk.
02
Signed both ways
You sign it, then your customer does
You sign the job sheet where it needs it. Your customer can sign in person on your phone, or you email them a copy to sign on theirs. Once they have signed, the signed copy comes back onto the job for your records.
03
Kept for next time
It all stays on the job
Every quote, every invoice, every photo and the signed sheet all hang off that customer and that address. When they ring next year about the thing you did, it is one search, not a rummage through your camera roll.
The questions roofers ask us
Access, weather, and money at height.
Paperwork
Three lots of paperwork on a re-roof, and only one of them is yours.
Does it notify building control for me?
No. Replace more than about a quarter of a roof and it’s notifiable, and the insulation has to come up to current standard. That’s your CompetentRoofer registration or a building control application. Trade PA doesn’t issue roofing certificates. The ones it writes are electrical, gas, and a Job Completion Sign-off. What it holds is the job, the address, the photos and the customer.
Where does my CompetentRoofer number live?
In About You, in the scheme memberships list, sat next to your insurer and your policy number. It’s on your business record so it’s in one place when somebody asks for it, rather than in a drawer at home.
Scaffold handover certificate.
That comes from the scaffolder, along with his seven-day inspections. Photograph it and put it on the job. Then when the customer or an insurer asks who put the scaffold up and when, it’s attached to the right address instead of curling up on the dashboard.
CDM on a domestic job?
If you’re the only contractor on it, the client’s duties land on you. Trade PA won’t write your RAMS, and nothing in it pretends to. It keeps the job, the dates, the photos and the notes, which is the part people actually lose.
Customer says the leak’s still there.
Photos on the job, dated, against that address. Before, during, and the finished ridge. Plus a Job Completion Sign-off at handover if you want their signature on the screen while you’re still stood there.
Quoting
The bloke who came in £900 cheaper didn’t price the scaffold. Make that visible.
Do I bury the scaffold in the price?
Never. Give it its own line. “Quote Mrs Doyle: strip and re-tile £4,850, scaffold hire three weeks £900, skip £280.” When she lines your quote up against two others, that line is the only thing explaining why yours reads higher.
Felt, slate or tile. She wants three prices.
Do them as lines and edit down to the one she picks. Every edit saves as a new version and her link always shows the latest, so there aren’t three prices drifting about with your name on them.
Storm job, going through her insurance.
Then it needs itemising, not a lump sum. Strip, battens, membrane, tiles, ridge, access, waste, each with a price against it. The quote goes out on your own template with your logo, from your own email. Keep the damage photos on the job so you can send them alongside when the adjuster asks.
Lead and battens have gone up again by the time they say yes.
Worth knowing: there’s no working expiry date on a quote in Trade PA. So type it into the notes yourself. “Price held thirty days, lead and battens moving.” The app won’t police it, but she’s seen it in writing and you’ve got a reason to re-price.
Sent it Tuesday. Silence.
The job shows how many times she’s opened it, so you know the difference between not read and not interested. Five days of nothing and it hands you the chase with the wording already done.
Money & the day
Weather, deposits, and an invoice that goes out the same week.
Rained off. Everything shifts a day.
“Push Mrs Doyle’s job to Thursday.” It moves it, tells you what you’d be clashing with, and won’t book you into the past. Open the booking and there’s an Update customer button that opens a message already written, so she hears from you before she’s stood at the window wondering.
Nine grand re-roof. I need materials money up front.
Invoice in stages. Bill the deposit, bill the work done, bill the rest. Her page shows the job total, invoiced, paid and to pay, so nobody loses the thread. A deposit never closes the job, and it stops you marking it all paid while there’s value left uninvoiced.
Scaffold hire and merchant invoices.
Snap the receipt, or upload the hire invoice as a PDF. It reads the supplier, the gross and the VAT and files it against the job, so the scaffold sits on the roof that used it rather than in a general heap at year end.
Money’s late and the next job’s waiting on it.
It tells you: “Mrs Doyle still owes you £2,400.” One tap writes the reminder and you send it by text, WhatsApp or email from your own phone, so it arrives from you rather than from software. Then it goes quiet for a week and comes back if nothing’s moved.
How much, and is there an Android version?
£10 a month. One plan, no tiers, no contract, cancel when you want. Two weeks free and it never asks for a card. And yes — it’s live on Google Play for Android. The iPhone app is live on the App Store.
One plan. The whole app.
