What TradePA is, and what it costs
TradePA is an app for UK trades, including plumbers, that does your admin while you talk. Say the job and it writes the quote, drafts the invoice, books it in the diary and writes the reminder when someone hasn’t paid. It carries your gas safety records and job sign-offs too. £10 a month, two weeks free.
The whole app. Every feature, no add-ons, and it does not go up when the work does.
No card, no contract. Put a real job through and see how TradePA can change your business.
Gas Safety (CP12), Smoke & CO test and Job Completion Sign-off, filled in on the phone and signed on site.
Say it with your hands full
What you say, and what you get back

You say
“Quote Mrs Doyle nine-eighty to swap the boiler at 14 Ferndale Road. Two-fifty on top for the flush and the new valves.”
A £1,476 itemised quote with VAT and your logo on it. You preview your quote to make sure you are happy, before sending to your customer by text, WhatsApp or your own custom branded email.

You say
“What should I be charging for the bathroom at Beech Court?”
Quote Helper shows what the job costs you and what your expected profit would be, allowing you to quote with ease based on your own cost and pricing data. Suite, pipework, tiles, labour, each with your costs versus what you charge your customer. You see the margin before you send it, not after the job is done.

You say
“Gas safety check done at Flat 3 Beech Court. All passed. Invoice the agent ninety plus VAT.”
Your PA updates that job and drafts the £108 invoice to the agent, ready for you to preview and send.

You say
“Who still owes me?”
Your PA already knows. Every invoice you have sent, what has landed and what has gone past its date. Your Trade PA writes the reminder and you tap send. Nothing goes to your customer that you have not okayed.
The paperwork
A plumber signs more paper than people think
A gas safety record every year on a rented property, and the tenant has to have a copy. A smoke and carbon monoxide test recorded when you fit one or check one. A sign-off the customer puts their name to when the bathroom or the boiler is finished. All of it signed, dated and kept.
12 months
How often a rented home needs a gas safety check, and the tenant has to have a copy within 28 days. Miss one and it is the landlord who carries it, which is exactly why letting agents keep ringing you for last year’s copy. Thankfully, your PA keeps a record of every certificate you issue, filed automatically against the job and the customer it belongs to.
Certificates
You talk to your PA, it does your certificates. Ready for you to sign.
01
It fills itself in
Your PA already has half of it
Pick the job and the customer, and the address and the work you logged come straight off it. Your PA asks you for whatever is missing and you answer as you would to a real person. The certificate fills itself in as you talk.
02
Signed both ways
You sign it, then your customer does
You sign the certificate where it needs it. Your customer can sign in person on your phone, or you email them a copy to sign on theirs. Once they have signed, the signed copy comes back onto the job for your records.
03
Remembered for next time
Your PA knows when it is due again
Anything that comes round on a cycle, like a landlord gas safety check or an annual boiler service, your PA keeps a note of. When it is coming up for renewal it tells you, so you can get it booked back in before your customer has to ask.
Everything a plumber asks, before he asks it
Three piles: the paperwork, the pricing, and the money. Tap one and the answers open up.
Certificates
The annual jobs, the records, and getting the repeat before someone else does.
Does TradePA do CP12s?
Yes. Say “new CP12 for Sarah’s kitchen” and it starts one off the job, so the customer and the address are already in. You can dictate the readings into chat and they drop into the right fields. Your Gas Safe registration, ID card and signatory name sit in your company setup and print on it. The inspection and the sign-off stay yours.
Will it remind me when an annual is due?
Automatically, with no setting to turn on. It recognises the jobs that come round every year — gas safety and CP12, boiler service, annual service, PAT testing, EICR, F-gas, chimney sweep, OFTEC and HETAS — and puts a reminder in your diary a month before the anniversary, so you get the repeat booked before anyone else rings them.
Where do the old certificates live?
On the job, under the address. Ask “what certificates does Beech Court have” and they come up; “send me the CP12 for Sarah’s kitchen” gets you the PDF. Not a photo in your camera roll from two winters ago.
Do I still need to be Gas Safe registered?
Yes — any gas work has to be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer, and has done since Gas Safe replaced CORGI in 2009. TradePA doesn’t change that. It keeps your registration and ID card details on file so they print correctly on what you issue.
Can I see everything I’ve done at an address?
Yes. Jobs, quotes, invoices, photos and certificates all hang off the customer and the address, so when they ring about “the thing you did last year” it’s one search.
Quoting
Price it when you first look, and change it the moment you find what is really going on.
Can I write a quote by talking to my phone while driving?
Yes. Say “Hey Cara” and talk it through: the customer, the job, the price. The quote gets written hands-free, on your own template with your logo on it. You preview it to make sure you are happy, then send it to your customer by text, WhatsApp or your own custom branded email. Nothing goes out without you looking at it first.
What happens when I open it up and it’s worse than it looked?
Say it while you’re knelt there — “add one-twenty to Mrs Patel’s, the isolation valve’s seized.” It goes on as a new version of the quote, and the link she already has shows her the latest one. No second document, no argument about which price is live.
Can I price a callout and a fixed job differently?
Yes — same quote either way. A fixed price for the ones you’ve done a hundred times, an hourly callout when nobody can tell you what’s behind the panel, with labour and materials split out so they can see what they’re paying for. The numbers for the big jobs are in how much to charge to fit a bathroom and to install a boiler.
Can I tell whether they’ve actually read it?
There’s a count on the job page for how many times they’ve opened it. Three opens and no answer isn’t a mystery — the reminder is already written, ready for you to send.
Does it send quotes and invoices for me?
Yes. You tap send and it goes out by text, WhatsApp or email — in your branding, right down to the colours on the email itself. Nothing gets sent behind your back: you read it first and decide when it goes. And because it goes from the app, you get told when the customer opens it, and again when they pay. Reminders work the same way — written for you, sent when you say so.
Money & the day
The paperwork half of the business, done while you’re still on site.
Does it handle VAT and CIS?
Both, on invoices. VAT comes off your company setup once your number is in. CIS is a switch at 20% or 30%, and you tick which lines are labour — only the ticked lines have the deduction taken, everything else is treated as materials.
What happens when I snap a receipt?
It reads the merchant off it — Plumbase, City Plumbing, Screwfix — pulls the gross, the VAT and the rate, and files it under Materials against that job. It learns the counters you actually use, so the spend lands on the right job instead of in the footwell.
Does it do bookings and the diary?
Say “book Mrs Patel in Tuesday morning” and it goes in the diary tied to that job, with the address on it. If it clashes with something, or leaves you twenty minutes to get from Tooting to Enfield, it tells you before you’ve said yes.
How much does plumbing software cost in the UK?
TradePA is £10 a month. One plan, no tiers, no add-ons: voice, quotes, invoices, jobs, diary, card payments, expenses and certificates. Two weeks free to start and no card needed. No contract either, so you stop whenever you like.
Is there an Android version of TradePA?
Yes. TradePA is live on Google Play for Android and on the App Store for iPhone. Everything on this page runs on both.
One plan. The whole app.
